Before someone moves into Oakbank Care Home, we will meet with them and their family members to make sure we can meet their individual needs. We will work together to understand their care needs, interests and preferences which we can incorporate into a care plan. We use a person centered approach to care, striving to support residents in maintaining their dignity and independence.

Our dementia care team undergo regular training sessions to make sure that our team has a high understanding in accordance with the many stages of dementia. Our staff are here to support residents with daily tasks, such as communication or personal care as our teams have the experience and knowledge to provide effective care to all residents who are living with dementia.

We’re proud to provide an activities programme for all residents which include both group and 1-2-1 activities or therapies. Some examples of dementia friendly activities include arts and crafts, music and/or pet therapy and reminiscence activities. Taking part in all activities helps enhance and mental, physical and social wellbeing of our residents.

At Oakbank Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
