Respite Care FAQs

This will depend on the needs of each individual as well as the availability of the respite care beds. We have a policy of a minimum stay of 4 weeks up to a few months, which again, will be determined by an individual care needs assessment.

Respite care is available to anyone who requires assistance with daily living, following hospital stays or for caregivers who need a break from their caregiving responsibilities. Additionally, if a loved on requires full time care, respite care can be used to trail a care home for 4 weeks to see if its right for them.

Alongside a residents stay, the individual will receive assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing and mobility. Nursing care can also be provided depending on the individual’s medical needs and requirements. Additionally residents receiving respite care will have access to an activities programme which aims to promote mental and physical wellbeing.
