A New Minibus for Oakbank Care Home

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our brand-new minibus, which rolled up to Oakbank Care Home on 8th January. This exciting addition is set to bring so much joy to our residents, offering the chance to get out and about and explore a few further flung destinations.

The arrival of the minibus has sparked a flurry of excitement and chatter among our residents. Plans are already underway for trips to stunning locations like St Andrews, where we can take in the sea air and enjoy the historic charm of the town, and Loch Katrine, with its breathtaking views and opportunities to enjoy a gentle cruise on the water. We’re also looking forward to a nostalgic step back in time with a visit to Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway, where steam trains and vintage carriages are bound to bring back fond memories.

Closer to home, the minibus will help us stay actively involved in the local community. From sing-along sessions in Comrie and cycling activities with Bikeability at North Inch in Perth to the always-popular tea dances at Strathearn Arts, these outings are so much more than just a day out – they’re a chance to have a good laugh, and build friendships with others in the home.

For care home residents, opportunities to get out and about are incredibly important. These trips bring variety, boost wellbeing, and create precious memories. Exploring new places, visiting favourite spots, and staying involved with the wider community all help residents feel more engaged, valued, and fulfilled.

Our dedicated staff have shown such enthusiasm, already volunteering their time and ideas to ensure these outings are meaningful and enjoyable for everyone. Whether it’s finding hidden gems to visit or planning picnics in the sunshine, their efforts will ensure every trip is a special experience.

We can’t wait to start this exciting chapter of adventures. If you’d like to find out more about the wonderful care and activities we provide at Oakbank Care Home, or to arrange a visit, please get in touch with our friendly team today, we’d love to welcome you to visit our home.
